Sunset and Barn Side

Photo of the Day 168/365

This photo was taken earlier this year, in the spring. I posted, the next day, a lovely photo of the sunset, but this photo languished in my archives. In looking at this shot, I liked that I included the side of the barn and the path into the field. At first, the sunset grabs you, but the lines lead you into the image. What you don't hear is the bees that didn't like my presence and were buzzing behind my head - I DO remember that.

Tuesday Free Choice: This photo was taken on our recent Maine vacation. It was taken in Bar Harbor on the Shore Path. My wife and I were downtown on our own for the afternoon. We love the Shore Path andwe saw Balance Rock and I tried more than a few shots to get an image I liked at low tide. I tried to blance the rock with the island and thought the composition good enough to post.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.
