Sun Sinking through the Clouds
Photo of the Day 177/365
I took this photo last evening on my way home from our karate classes. I could not pass up another chance to get a good sunset. It started with a view of clouds above our local "mountains" (hills) on the drive home and ended up stopping so I could shoot over an open field. I zoomed in as far as I could and got a number of images but this one was the best. I have wider shots but this one caught my eye.

Purple Phlox
Images Exposed Daily Photo Challenge
Thursday Color: Purple is my favorite color - and any time I can capture something in nature that is purple, I will try to get a good shot. This phlox with the deep green of the woods behind it is such a photo. I remember trying to isolate this lone stem so I could make the purple the center of attention.
