Sunset Glow in the Clouds

Photo of the Day 181/365

I found this scene this past weekend. I had given up on a sunset and indeed, we did NOT get a sunset, but after the sun had set, the colors lit up a part of the sky I had not expected. So, I rushed out to see what I could see and while I found a number of shots, this one really took my fancy - a simple show of a glow between the coming rain clouds, just showing some red and pink.

Monday Fill-the-Frame: This photo was taken some years ago. We were visiting some friend in western Pennsylvania. I had decided to go for a walk with my kids to give them something to do. On our walk we found an abandoned building - I can't remember if it was a buisness or a school - but the local kids, and time, had taken their toll and many windows were broken. I took my opportunity and took a few photos that I liked and this was one of them.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.
