Sun Sinking through the Trees

I had to run out last evening to get gas due to a road trip (today) to Virginia, so I took "the scenic route" home.  On the way, I was able to pull into spot and ran across the road and grab a few shots before the sun went down. This show was just before I lost the sun - it was a really nice shot, the weather was cool(er) and humidity comfortable. It was the best I got last night.

Hummingbirds have Returned!

Saturday Nature: I have to be fair, my wife took this photo but with the camera, and the setup I put together to get these types of photos at our feeder. We've put out 3 different feeders, one of them for hummingbirds. We hoped they would return - and they have. With a little coaching and instruction she was able to grab a few shots before they scooted away.  I thought she did great and I wanted to share.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.
