Sunset Sky Through the Clearing

Phot of the Day 222/365

I took this photo two evenings ago. I was on my way home from my son's home when I saw the sun setting but knew I would miss it. However, on my way, I found a clearing onto a field and pulled over to try to grab a shot. It was a little darker than I would have prefered, but I think this came out well.

Sunday Monochrome: I took this photo in my home a few weeks ago. I was fooling around with my camera settings and decided to try it out in macro mode in black and white. There were quite a few mis-steps but I think this image was worth keepting. The angles and lines, along with the obvious oldness of the books made the photo work for me.

Red Tinged Clouds over the Trees Photo of the Day 345/366 I took the photo last week on the way home. It was a wonderful sunset sky and I couldn't pass up taking a number of shots while it was available. These clouds with the red edges from the setting sun were a wonderful sight over these trees just behind the rolling field in the foreground. A nice evening sky for sure.

Tracks into the Sunset Photo of the Day 342/366 This photo was taken last evening on the way home from work. I took a number of photos and could not quite get the sun peeking through  the clouds. This is the closest I got. I love the colors in the sky and the reflections in the railroad tracks. I've taken this scene before, but it always makes me think of life moving on and on, rolling into the sunset of life - as I get older, those thoughts become more frequent.

    Photo of the Day 307/365  Autumn Colors on Display by the Creek This photo was taken last weekend on our mini-vacation. We were on our way home and happened to find a pull-off - in the rain - and I took some photos by this creek. The colors just seemed to pop in the damp drizzly weather but the camera couldn't quite capture the bright colors. I didn't want to over-edit it but this is close to what I experienced that moment.
