Fiery Sunset over the Snowy Valley
Photo of the Day 31/365
We got some significant snowfall a week ago and unlike other snows, this one just won't leave. The temperatures are so cold that the snow doesn't melt and what the sun softens turns to a nice crust on the 6+ inches of snow we have. I almost didn't get this shot. The parking lot where I can see this was barely plowed, but the stop was worth it. The colors of the setting sun were just outstanding.

Peeling Paint on Iron Railings

Saturday Colors: This photo was taken over 10 years ago. We were on a trip to St. Louis and my wife and I were out for a walk. The Mississippi had flooded and many riverside places were not completely cleaned up. The colors of this railing caught my eye. The blue outer layer, with the contrasting yellow underneath really caught my eye. The railing went all the way into the water. I wondered then (and now), why was it there? Those colors, though....
