Late Afternoon by the River

Photo of the Day 133/365

On our way home on Mother's Day, we were driving home by the river. The afternoon sky looked, initially, to be very cloudy, but when we got down by the river, I saw the sky begin to get color near the horizon. I took a number of photos as we drove, but most did not come out well. This one, however, struck me with the tree limbs above and the nice color in the water.

Wednesday People: This photo was taken well over 15 years ago when I worked for our state government. This young lady and I spoke frequently. She was newly married and trying to get a good start with a "state job." She would read in the afternoon, most times, and I managed to get this snap of her before she sensed it. This is one of the only photos I have of her, and it brings back nice memories.

Simple Spring Sunrise Sky Photo of thd Day 88/365 I took this photo yesterday morning on the way to work. Initially, I saw the bright reds at the horizon. However, when I got my car stopped in a safe spot and got out, I saw the "big picture" of the sky. The open sky, the few simple clouds, and the blue to red above, I had to take the larger shot. It was the start to a great (but VERY long) day.

Sunset View through the Window Photo of the Day 83/365 This photo was taken earler in the season. It was taken while waiting for some co-workers while on the campus of the university where I work. We were having dinner and were trying to wait their arrival but travel delays caused things to be late. I decided to look around and see what could be captured - this was the result.

Snow and Ice by the Lake Photo of the Day 51/365 This photo was taken at our local State Park (Gifford Pinchot) and it was a cold sunset sky. It had been cold enough for some time for the lake to freeze over. The snow had started to melt due to the sunshine and that eveing, the sunset was wonderful (but cold). That lade is and will be, one of my fave local spots.
