Pretty Sunset Sky

Photo of the Day 136/365

I took this photo earlier this week and, as happens, I sometimes get multiple shots of the sky from different vantage points.  Since I get multiple shots, I save some, since I only post one per day. I liked this shot and held it, knowing we had a busy week and likely, I'd need it. So, here it is. I hope you enjoy it as I do.

Saturday Colors: We were over to visit my oldest child earlier this spring, and I got out to photograph some of the flowers that we had left for them. These irises were always, to me, a favorite. Purple is my favorite color, and the placement behind the white azaleas makes them stand out.

Simple Spring Sunrise Sky Photo of thd Day 88/365 I took this photo yesterday morning on the way to work. Initially, I saw the bright reds at the horizon. However, when I got my car stopped in a safe spot and got out, I saw the "big picture" of the sky. The open sky, the few simple clouds, and the blue to red above, I had to take the larger shot. It was the start to a great (but VERY long) day.

Sunset View through the Window Photo of the Day 83/365 This photo was taken earler in the season. It was taken while waiting for some co-workers while on the campus of the university where I work. We were having dinner and were trying to wait their arrival but travel delays caused things to be late. I decided to look around and see what could be captured - this was the result.

Snow and Ice by the Lake Photo of the Day 51/365 This photo was taken at our local State Park (Gifford Pinchot) and it was a cold sunset sky. It had been cold enough for some time for the lake to freeze over. The snow had started to melt due to the sunshine and that eveing, the sunset was wonderful (but cold). That lade is and will be, one of my fave local spots.
