Sunset and Flowers at the Farm

Photo of the Day 137/365

I took this photo a few days ago. I was out for my usual sunset walk and noticed that the neighbor had put down a fresh load of white gravel in a number of areas around the barns and home. I saw that they had also put out some flowers near this barn and decided to try to capture the scene with the sunset. I think it came out nicely.

Old Stump and Wildflowers

Sunday Monochrome:  I tried a new location for a walk the other day and on my walk, I needed to get off the road due to traffic. When I stepped off, I noticed this old stump in front of me. I also noticed the tiny wildflowers growing around the stump. I tried the photo in color, but it lacked the impact that the black and white image had.

Simple Spring Sunrise Sky Photo of thd Day 88/365 I took this photo yesterday morning on the way to work. Initially, I saw the bright reds at the horizon. However, when I got my car stopped in a safe spot and got out, I saw the "big picture" of the sky. The open sky, the few simple clouds, and the blue to red above, I had to take the larger shot. It was the start to a great (but VERY long) day.

Sunset View through the Window Photo of the Day 83/365 This photo was taken earler in the season. It was taken while waiting for some co-workers while on the campus of the university where I work. We were having dinner and were trying to wait their arrival but travel delays caused things to be late. I decided to look around and see what could be captured - this was the result.

Snow and Ice by the Lake Photo of the Day 51/365 This photo was taken at our local State Park (Gifford Pinchot) and it was a cold sunset sky. It had been cold enough for some time for the lake to freeze over. The snow had started to melt due to the sunshine and that eveing, the sunset was wonderful (but cold). That lade is and will be, one of my fave local spots.
