Line of Dark Clouds at Sunset

Photo of the Day 139/365

This photo was taken a couple of nights ago. I had stopped trying to get some sunset shots, but it was too late. Instead of getting the actual sunset, I tried different compositions. In this one, I noted the wide line of dark clouds and the colorful sky just to the south of the sunset.

Tuesday Built, Found, and Painted: We were at a local plant nursery when I spotted these flower pots. I looked and thought they were just plain cute. I had to grab a photo before we left. The seemingly simple lines on the white pots just made me smile.

Simple Spring Sunrise Sky Photo of thd Day 88/365 I took this photo yesterday morning on the way to work. Initially, I saw the bright reds at the horizon. However, when I got my car stopped in a safe spot and got out, I saw the "big picture" of the sky. The open sky, the few simple clouds, and the blue to red above, I had to take the larger shot. It was the start to a great (but VERY long) day.

Sunset View through the Window Photo of the Day 83/365 This photo was taken earler in the season. It was taken while waiting for some co-workers while on the campus of the university where I work. We were having dinner and were trying to wait their arrival but travel delays caused things to be late. I decided to look around and see what could be captured - this was the result.

Snow and Ice by the Lake Photo of the Day 51/365 This photo was taken at our local State Park (Gifford Pinchot) and it was a cold sunset sky. It had been cold enough for some time for the lake to freeze over. The snow had started to melt due to the sunshine and that eveing, the sunset was wonderful (but cold). That lade is and will be, one of my fave local spots.
