Sunset-lit Sky and Field

Photo of the Day 143/365

If you read this, you know that I often take sunset walks. In most cases, I take advantage and get as many views and compositions as I can. Sometimes, I include a single tree; sometimes, I include wide, wild skies.  On this particular evening, I noted the clouds and field opposite the sunset and did my best to capture that view.

Saturday Colors: This photo was taken twenty or more years ago when we were vacationing in Ocean City, Maryland. The night we arrived, the wind was blowing, and the air was warm. Due to the wind, there were kites planted in the ground, in hopes of selling them to the kids. I got closer to those kites and captured this view of a detail of those kites.

Simple Spring Sunrise Sky Photo of thd Day 88/365 I took this photo yesterday morning on the way to work. Initially, I saw the bright reds at the horizon. However, when I got my car stopped in a safe spot and got out, I saw the "big picture" of the sky. The open sky, the few simple clouds, and the blue to red above, I had to take the larger shot. It was the start to a great (but VERY long) day.

Sunset View through the Window Photo of the Day 83/365 This photo was taken earler in the season. It was taken while waiting for some co-workers while on the campus of the university where I work. We were having dinner and were trying to wait their arrival but travel delays caused things to be late. I decided to look around and see what could be captured - this was the result.

Snow and Ice by the Lake Photo of the Day 51/365 This photo was taken at our local State Park (Gifford Pinchot) and it was a cold sunset sky. It had been cold enough for some time for the lake to freeze over. The snow had started to melt due to the sunshine and that eveing, the sunset was wonderful (but cold). That lade is and will be, one of my fave local spots.
