Late Day on the Water in Maine

Based on the stress I've had over the past couple of days, I decided to pull one of my favorite photos from the past and post it for my photo of the day. This photo was taken a couple of years ago on our annual Maine vacation. We decided to go on a lakeside hike near sunset. This shot was taken over an inlet after sunset with the clouds reflecting on the calm water. It was an almost perfect evening.

Wednesday People: This photo was taken a number of years ago on one of our vacations. I seem to remember this was taken on our first Cape Cod vacation. This particular man was not a very friendly sort, and I treated this more like a stolen photo. I would not have asked his permission based on his comments and demeanor.

Simple Spring Sunrise Sky Photo of thd Day 88/365 I took this photo yesterday morning on the way to work. Initially, I saw the bright reds at the horizon. However, when I got my car stopped in a safe spot and got out, I saw the "big picture" of the sky. The open sky, the few simple clouds, and the blue to red above, I had to take the larger shot. It was the start to a great (but VERY long) day.

Sunset View through the Window Photo of the Day 83/365 This photo was taken earler in the season. It was taken while waiting for some co-workers while on the campus of the university where I work. We were having dinner and were trying to wait their arrival but travel delays caused things to be late. I decided to look around and see what could be captured - this was the result.

Snow and Ice by the Lake Photo of the Day 51/365 This photo was taken at our local State Park (Gifford Pinchot) and it was a cold sunset sky. It had been cold enough for some time for the lake to freeze over. The snow had started to melt due to the sunshine and that eveing, the sunset was wonderful (but cold). That lade is and will be, one of my fave local spots.
