Sunset on the Water

Photo of the Day 170/365

Some days you just have to let things happen. This was one of those days. The sun had set, and the stress was falling away. The water reflected the sky, and the day was ending well. It helped the stresses of the day drain away with the fleeing clouds. I can only hope you have those kinds of days.

Friday Nature: I was out for a walk some time ago and came upon a bed of pink petunias. I'm not exactly sure what drew my eye. Pink is not my favorite color, but there were a goodly number of blooms, more than I usually see outside of a store. I took a number of photos, but I like this one the best.

Bare Trees After Sunset Photo of the Day 326/365 I took this photo on the way home from work last evening. I was in a hurry to get home, so I only managed 3 photos in the short time I had.  Also, due to the light, the phone washed out the colors, so I had to boost the saturation a little bit to get the photo to what I saw when I took it. I really like the subtle colors in the sky, from pink to blue.

Cliffs in Acadia (wish I was there again) Photo of the Day 165/365 This image, which I took last week, was taken at Raven's Nest on Schoodic Peninsula within Acadia National Park - in Maine. This area of the country is, indeed, my happy place. I have been there more than 20 times and I can ALWAYS find something wonderful and breathtaking to photograph. My younger self might have moved there, but life doesn't alway give you what you want, so I must be happy with visits and memories.

 Streamers in the Dawn Sky Photo of the Day 241/365 I found this scene on the way to work yesterday morning. As the days move on in the year, the sun rises earlier and earlier. The sun was actually higher in the sky than I'd like for a sunrise photo, but I zoomed out to the widest setting I had so that the sun would appear lower in the sky, and the streaming clouds would reach up into the blue. I really like how this image came out!
