Big Sky Colorful Sunset View

Photo of the Day 184/365

A few weeks ago, we had an awesome sunset. I took many photos and, over time, have posted a number of them. This one took a little bit of editing as it is a very wide view. The colors captured by my phone were so vivid that I actually toned it down because, to me, it did not look real. It IS a wonderful photo, and is one of the views that I will be losing due to a new housing development.

Friday Nature: I love the birds coming around our feeders. We have seen many different birds, but by far, the house finches are the most plentiful. When I'm lucky, I can catch the birds flitting from the feeder to our deck rails and posts. I was very fortunate to catch this one on the post, just before it flew back up to the feeder.

Simple Spring Sunrise Sky Photo of thd Day 88/365 I took this photo yesterday morning on the way to work. Initially, I saw the bright reds at the horizon. However, when I got my car stopped in a safe spot and got out, I saw the "big picture" of the sky. The open sky, the few simple clouds, and the blue to red above, I had to take the larger shot. It was the start to a great (but VERY long) day.

Sunset View through the Window Photo of the Day 83/365 This photo was taken earler in the season. It was taken while waiting for some co-workers while on the campus of the university where I work. We were having dinner and were trying to wait their arrival but travel delays caused things to be late. I decided to look around and see what could be captured - this was the result.

Snow and Ice by the Lake Photo of the Day 51/365 This photo was taken at our local State Park (Gifford Pinchot) and it was a cold sunset sky. It had been cold enough for some time for the lake to freeze over. The snow had started to melt due to the sunshine and that eveing, the sunset was wonderful (but cold). That lade is and will be, one of my fave local spots.
