Just Before the Storm at the River

This photo was taken on the way home from a family double birthday party. It was the birthday party for my sister-in-law and my daughter-in-law. We were at the home of my other sister-in-law and were eating and lounging by the pool. It was VERY hot, and we saw the storms coming. We finished up and headed out. We took the riverside street on the way home and I got a single shot of the sky before the storms hit.

Tuesday Built, Found, and Painted: This photo is one of the earliest in my archives. The park where this was taken (Williams Grove Park) is no longer in business, and these rides are long gone. It was taken more than 25 years ago. However, that really doesn't matter - the figures still stand out to me and fit the theme of the day.

Simple Spring Sunrise Sky Photo of thd Day 88/365 I took this photo yesterday morning on the way to work. Initially, I saw the bright reds at the horizon. However, when I got my car stopped in a safe spot and got out, I saw the "big picture" of the sky. The open sky, the few simple clouds, and the blue to red above, I had to take the larger shot. It was the start to a great (but VERY long) day.

Sunset View through the Window Photo of the Day 83/365 This photo was taken earler in the season. It was taken while waiting for some co-workers while on the campus of the university where I work. We were having dinner and were trying to wait their arrival but travel delays caused things to be late. I decided to look around and see what could be captured - this was the result.

Snow and Ice by the Lake Photo of the Day 51/365 This photo was taken at our local State Park (Gifford Pinchot) and it was a cold sunset sky. It had been cold enough for some time for the lake to freeze over. The snow had started to melt due to the sunshine and that eveing, the sunset was wonderful (but cold). That lade is and will be, one of my fave local spots.
