Sunset and Heavy Equipment

Photo of the Day 192/365

Two evenings ago, I saw the sunset coming on, and the sun and sky seemed spectacular. When I saw it, it was too late to get in the car and drive and explore. I decided, instead, to venture over to our neighbor's former farm. They are transforming the farm into a housing development, and the heavy equipment is there leveling the fields. It is a shame, but I'll use the scene as long as I can.

Saturday Colors: I took this photo about three weeks ago. I ventured out on a walk after a rain shower. I happened to see this rosebush and tried to capture a rose or two. I was disappointed by the photos I took, except for this one. I liked the light on the drops and on the rose. I also liked the brilliant color and form of this flower.

Simple Spring Sunrise Sky Photo of thd Day 88/365 I took this photo yesterday morning on the way to work. Initially, I saw the bright reds at the horizon. However, when I got my car stopped in a safe spot and got out, I saw the "big picture" of the sky. The open sky, the few simple clouds, and the blue to red above, I had to take the larger shot. It was the start to a great (but VERY long) day.

Sunset View through the Window Photo of the Day 83/365 This photo was taken earler in the season. It was taken while waiting for some co-workers while on the campus of the university where I work. We were having dinner and were trying to wait their arrival but travel delays caused things to be late. I decided to look around and see what could be captured - this was the result.

Snow and Ice by the Lake Photo of the Day 51/365 This photo was taken at our local State Park (Gifford Pinchot) and it was a cold sunset sky. It had been cold enough for some time for the lake to freeze over. The snow had started to melt due to the sunshine and that eveing, the sunset was wonderful (but cold). That lade is and will be, one of my fave local spots.
