Backroad into Sunset Sky

Photo of the Day 194/365

The other night, I liked the sunset, but I wanted something different. At the moment I took this, the sun was too bright, but to the north, the sky was beautifully colored. I panned that direction and worked to get a good view of the road and the sky. I had to wait a bit so that there would be no cars, but the wait was worth it.

Monday Free Choice:  This photo was taken a couple of years ago at a local State Park. I liked the grouping of rowboats with the water, and the green of the grass and trees. I originally thought there were only a couple of boats, but there are really five separate boats.

Simple Spring Sunrise Sky Photo of thd Day 88/365 I took this photo yesterday morning on the way to work. Initially, I saw the bright reds at the horizon. However, when I got my car stopped in a safe spot and got out, I saw the "big picture" of the sky. The open sky, the few simple clouds, and the blue to red above, I had to take the larger shot. It was the start to a great (but VERY long) day.

Sunset View through the Window Photo of the Day 83/365 This photo was taken earler in the season. It was taken while waiting for some co-workers while on the campus of the university where I work. We were having dinner and were trying to wait their arrival but travel delays caused things to be late. I decided to look around and see what could be captured - this was the result.

Snow and Ice by the Lake Photo of the Day 51/365 This photo was taken at our local State Park (Gifford Pinchot) and it was a cold sunset sky. It had been cold enough for some time for the lake to freeze over. The snow had started to melt due to the sunshine and that eveing, the sunset was wonderful (but cold). That lade is and will be, one of my fave local spots.
