Sunbeams at Sunset

Photo of the Day 195/365

The other night, I took a sunset walk and saw the layers of clouds near the horizon at sunset. As the sun moved into a clear spot in the clouds, the beams of sunlight burst forth from the tops of the clouds. I took a number of photos and tried different angles and views. This one was one of the best versions.

Stairwell Design

Tuesday Built, Found, and Painted: This photo is a view of the stairwell in the building in which I used to work. The building was new when we moved in, and we enjoyed the "new" design results of the architect. This stairwell had interior lighting at the wood level and skylights above. It was a public space in our building, and I enjoyed the design and execution.

Simple Spring Sunrise Sky Photo of thd Day 88/365 I took this photo yesterday morning on the way to work. Initially, I saw the bright reds at the horizon. However, when I got my car stopped in a safe spot and got out, I saw the "big picture" of the sky. The open sky, the few simple clouds, and the blue to red above, I had to take the larger shot. It was the start to a great (but VERY long) day.

Sunset View through the Window Photo of the Day 83/365 This photo was taken earler in the season. It was taken while waiting for some co-workers while on the campus of the university where I work. We were having dinner and were trying to wait their arrival but travel delays caused things to be late. I decided to look around and see what could be captured - this was the result.

Snow and Ice by the Lake Photo of the Day 51/365 This photo was taken at our local State Park (Gifford Pinchot) and it was a cold sunset sky. It had been cold enough for some time for the lake to freeze over. The snow had started to melt due to the sunshine and that eveing, the sunset was wonderful (but cold). That lade is and will be, one of my fave local spots.
