Touches of Sunset over the Trees

A few nights ago, I ventured out as I usually do when there is a chance of a nice sunset. The sunset, however, came and went quickly, in and out of the clouds. By the time I got to a nice spot for a photo, the sun had faded back behind the clouds. I did manage this shot with two lone slivers of sunset color among the clouds. I do like the bands of clouds with the tiny bits of color.

Wednesday People: This photo was taken in Cape May, New Jersey, a few years ago. In years past, when we went to Cape May, we almost always went on boat trips to see dolphins and whales. On those trips, I usually captured photos of people walking on the jetties. Many times, they wave to the boat; other times, they either ignore the boat or just watch. This time, the couple just watched, but I still got their photo.

Simple Spring Sunrise Sky Photo of thd Day 88/365 I took this photo yesterday morning on the way to work. Initially, I saw the bright reds at the horizon. However, when I got my car stopped in a safe spot and got out, I saw the "big picture" of the sky. The open sky, the few simple clouds, and the blue to red above, I had to take the larger shot. It was the start to a great (but VERY long) day.

Sunset View through the Window Photo of the Day 83/365 This photo was taken earler in the season. It was taken while waiting for some co-workers while on the campus of the university where I work. We were having dinner and were trying to wait their arrival but travel delays caused things to be late. I decided to look around and see what could be captured - this was the result.

Snow and Ice by the Lake Photo of the Day 51/365 This photo was taken at our local State Park (Gifford Pinchot) and it was a cold sunset sky. It had been cold enough for some time for the lake to freeze over. The snow had started to melt due to the sunshine and that eveing, the sunset was wonderful (but cold). That lade is and will be, one of my fave local spots.
