Fields, Trees, and Afternoon Light

We left the house a few nights ago, trying to get out, and trying to seek to find a sunset. We did not have a great deal of success finding a wonderful sunset, but we did see some nice scenes. This scene was found between two farms. The first, on the right, has a field easily seen by the rows of plants; the other, on the left, can be seen by the fenced-in field. In the late afternoon light, I liked the scene and the green of summer.

Wednesday People: This photo is a scan of a slide taken by my father in the 1960s. It was taken at a county fair where we lived. You can see the vintage cars in the background and the cowboys and horses in the foreground. I finished scanning in his slides, and many memories were brought back. This photo is one of those memories.

Simple Spring Sunrise Sky Photo of thd Day 88/365 I took this photo yesterday morning on the way to work. Initially, I saw the bright reds at the horizon. However, when I got my car stopped in a safe spot and got out, I saw the "big picture" of the sky. The open sky, the few simple clouds, and the blue to red above, I had to take the larger shot. It was the start to a great (but VERY long) day.

Sunset View through the Window Photo of the Day 83/365 This photo was taken earler in the season. It was taken while waiting for some co-workers while on the campus of the university where I work. We were having dinner and were trying to wait their arrival but travel delays caused things to be late. I decided to look around and see what could be captured - this was the result.

Snow and Ice by the Lake Photo of the Day 51/365 This photo was taken at our local State Park (Gifford Pinchot) and it was a cold sunset sky. It had been cold enough for some time for the lake to freeze over. The snow had started to melt due to the sunshine and that eveing, the sunset was wonderful (but cold). That lade is and will be, one of my fave local spots.
