Last Bit of Sunset

Photo of the Day 204/365

Two days ago, it had been cloudy and rainy all day. Hopes for a sunset were not running very high. At the end of the day, sitting in our living room, I suddenly saw the walls light up. I got up and saw the very last moments of a sunset. I walked carefully, barefoot, across our yard and driveway and tried to grab a few photos before the sun went into the clouds. This was the best shot I could get.

Thursday Fill-the-Frame: A number of years ago, I was on a business trip to Toronto. I had a great time there, both at the conference, and in the time I had walking around in a new city. I saw this building in the city and worked to get a photo of the way the reflection was displayed. I've saved this one for quite some time.

Simple Spring Sunrise Sky Photo of thd Day 88/365 I took this photo yesterday morning on the way to work. Initially, I saw the bright reds at the horizon. However, when I got my car stopped in a safe spot and got out, I saw the "big picture" of the sky. The open sky, the few simple clouds, and the blue to red above, I had to take the larger shot. It was the start to a great (but VERY long) day.

Sunset View through the Window Photo of the Day 83/365 This photo was taken earler in the season. It was taken while waiting for some co-workers while on the campus of the university where I work. We were having dinner and were trying to wait their arrival but travel delays caused things to be late. I decided to look around and see what could be captured - this was the result.

Snow and Ice by the Lake Photo of the Day 51/365 This photo was taken at our local State Park (Gifford Pinchot) and it was a cold sunset sky. It had been cold enough for some time for the lake to freeze over. The snow had started to melt due to the sunshine and that eveing, the sunset was wonderful (but cold). That lade is and will be, one of my fave local spots.
