Sunset and Silo

Photo of the Day 205/365

The other night, my wife and I took a drive to try to capture a sunset. We knew the sun was still up, but here were only a few shadows. We tried to follow a road we've used before with farms on it. I was hoping to get some manner of subject to offset the lack of clouds. I managed to get an image of the sun just as it got to the silo. I don't think it was too bad, considering the car was moving when I took the photo.

Friday Nature: We almost always get house finches at our feeder. Sometimes we get other finches, cardinals, and even blue jays on occasion. But usually, we get finches. They are skittish, but I managed to capture this one as it was being watchful, and I think it caught me looking at it and trying to capture it. If flew off shortly after I took this photo.

Simple Spring Sunrise Sky Photo of thd Day 88/365 I took this photo yesterday morning on the way to work. Initially, I saw the bright reds at the horizon. However, when I got my car stopped in a safe spot and got out, I saw the "big picture" of the sky. The open sky, the few simple clouds, and the blue to red above, I had to take the larger shot. It was the start to a great (but VERY long) day.

Sunset View through the Window Photo of the Day 83/365 This photo was taken earler in the season. It was taken while waiting for some co-workers while on the campus of the university where I work. We were having dinner and were trying to wait their arrival but travel delays caused things to be late. I decided to look around and see what could be captured - this was the result.

Snow and Ice by the Lake Photo of the Day 51/365 This photo was taken at our local State Park (Gifford Pinchot) and it was a cold sunset sky. It had been cold enough for some time for the lake to freeze over. The snow had started to melt due to the sunshine and that eveing, the sunset was wonderful (but cold). That lade is and will be, one of my fave local spots.
