Soft Summer Sunrise

The other night, I managed a walk out to catch the setting sun after a stormy day. I wasn't expecting much, but Mother Nature delivered anyway. I got a clearing of the western sky with just enough clouds to make the sunset colorful and provide just a little light to the field in the foreground. It was a really nice sunset.

Friday Nature: I went for a mid-afternoon walk with my youngest two days ago. I wanted a place with little traffic but some natural cover. We decided on a walk by a local stream and walked for about one and a half miles. Along the creek, I found this lone flower - I like purple, so I took a photo and found out later it is called a "Surprise Lily" - I like it.

Simple Spring Sunrise Sky Photo of thd Day 88/365 I took this photo yesterday morning on the way to work. Initially, I saw the bright reds at the horizon. However, when I got my car stopped in a safe spot and got out, I saw the "big picture" of the sky. The open sky, the few simple clouds, and the blue to red above, I had to take the larger shot. It was the start to a great (but VERY long) day.

Sunset View through the Window Photo of the Day 83/365 This photo was taken earler in the season. It was taken while waiting for some co-workers while on the campus of the university where I work. We were having dinner and were trying to wait their arrival but travel delays caused things to be late. I decided to look around and see what could be captured - this was the result.

Snow and Ice by the Lake Photo of the Day 51/365 This photo was taken at our local State Park (Gifford Pinchot) and it was a cold sunset sky. It had been cold enough for some time for the lake to freeze over. The snow had started to melt due to the sunshine and that eveing, the sunset was wonderful (but cold). That lade is and will be, one of my fave local spots.
